For whom: Students (graduates and undergraduates) are encouraged to apply for fellowships although other young researchers may also be considered. Applicants who are presenting at the APAN 59 will be given precedence.
What the APAN Fellowship Program fund covers: (Please read the below points as it’s crucial for your application)
1. Registration Fee:
Access to All Sessions/Workshops/Tutorials
2. Food:
Breakfast at the hotel, Lunch and Tea (During Conferences) and Dinner when there are social events
3. Fixed Local transportation & Per Diem:
Transport Allowance (if applicable) (From International Airport to the accommodation site and vice versa) or any other ground transportation to the venue and meals that are not covered during the APAN meeting.
4. Accommodation
On twin sharing basis during APAN59 (Venue will be notified to successful applicants). Should you wish to arrange your accommodation (at your own cost) please notify the APAN SEC one(1) month before the event to avoid non-refund of accommodation allowance. Please do not request for single room, or book on your own without notifying us as it disrupts our planning.
Travel & Logistics
1. Please note that the applicants must ensure the availability of their airfare (please check your airfare and accessibility to Yokohama first (via Haneda or Narita) before applying, as airfare is NOT covered under the fellowship program fund.
2. You are required to provide a letter of proof for the support for airfare from your institution/organization or yourself when you apply for the APAN Fellowship Program. Do note without this letter, your application will be immediately rejected.
3. Just for planning and budgeting purpose, these are the travel details to the venue (Pacifico Yokohama north) and hotel (will be disclosed to accepted fellows)

By Train : Haneda Airport – Yokohama switch from Yokohama – Minato-mirai (~50 mins)
By Cab : Haneda Airport – Minato-mirai (20 mins)

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
1. In cases where you bear the airfare personally, you may be required to provide a confirmed itinerary at the time of acceptance of the Fellowship.
2. Except for the occasions of APAN social events, the fellows are expected to plan to meet their dinner expenses on their own.
3. Please also ensure you do not have any work commitments for this one week during APAN59 as you are required to be in attendance the whole week beginning 2nd March 2025.
4. Being present on the first day is crucial.
5. For those who have applied for the APAN fellowship earlier and appeared as no show without notice will also be automatically rejected (Please refer to Blacklisting policy : https://apan.net/fellowship/)
